Location of the Casa

La Casa dei Fiordalisi is located within the walled hill town of Trequanda, in the Province of Siena, Tuscany. Trequanda is conveniently situated about one hour south of Florence and just two hours north of Rome. The major north–south autostrada connecting Rome and Florence is only 20 minutes east of Trequanda.

From Trequanda, you can easily arrange day trips to major destinations such as Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena, Florence, Perugia, Assisi, Deruta, San Gimignano, and Volterra, to name just a few.

Trequanda is centrally located among Tuscany’s three major wine regions—Vino Nobile, Chianti, and Brunello—and is also in an area renowned for its elusive truffles. The surrounding countryside is home to award-winning olive oil and cheese producers, as well as art, festivals, concerts, and museums.

Siena

Located about 45 minutes northwest of Trequanda, Siena is renowned for its cuisine, art, museums, medieval cityscape, and the Palio, a historic horse race held twice a year. The scenic drive from Trequanda to Siena through the Crete Senesi is particularly magical.

Florence

About an hour north of Trequanda, Florence is Tuscany’s most populous city. Once the center of medieval European trade, finance, art, and culture, Florence is home to countless cultural treasures that can be explored on a day trip from La Casa dei Fiordalisi.

Rome

Located two hours south of Trequanda, Rome can be visited as a day trip, although its abundance of ancient monuments, Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture, museums, churches, and historic neighborhoods makes it worthy of a longer stay. Rome is also home to Italy’s largest and most convenient international airport, making it an ideal place to begin or end your journey at La Casa dei Fiordalisi.
